Animal Care & Equine Sessions

At Keane Futures, we believe that spending time with animals can be a powerful way to build confidence, responsibility, wellbeing, and new skills.

Our learners have the opportunity to meet and care for a variety of animals. On site, we are joined by Buddy the Rabbit and Teddy the Dog, who are always popular members of the team. We also welcome visits from our Guinea Pigs, Tortoise, and Bearded Dragons, allowing learners to discover more about different species and their individual needs.

For those interested in outdoor learning, we also have access to a small holding where learners can spend time with horses and chickens. These sessions provide hands-on experience in animal care, including feeding, grooming, handling, and understanding animal welfare.

Whether learners are curious about small animals, reptiles, dogs, rabbits, or horses, our Animal Care & Equine sessions offer a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment to learn, develop practical skills, and build meaningful connections with animals. We offer animal care and equine sessions with our on-site guinea pigs and Eddie, the horse, at the local stables. Young people who engage with horses and animals develop invaluable confidence building skills. Working alongside these magnificent animals, young people learn important life lessons such as effective communication, emotional regulation, and leadership. This enhances personal growth but also fosters a deeper connection with oneself and others.
